mogeneration are thrilled to be highly commended in the sport category for the Coastalwatch iPhone app at the recent 16th AIMIA awards. This is mogeneration’s 3rd major award (in addition to TheNextWeb “Best Mobile Startup” and making the NETT #30) since forming 18 months ago.

The Coastalwatch app was one of our first apps and went right to the top of the app store charts when it launched in August 2009. In fact that same week we also launched Food Watch NSW which went to #1 in the reference category of the Australian App store.
Since we started as Australia first dedicated iPhone app company in October 2008 we have shipped an incredible 24 apps for many Australian and International customers. Our apps have topped the charts in several countries. A recent app broke the top 20 paid entertainment apps in the US – that means it had thousands of sales EVERY DAY.
2010 will be mogeneration’s best year yet and will see the launch of some fantastic iPad and iPhone apps.

Last week mogeneration released two iPhone applications, Coastalwatch (for Coastalwatch.com) and Food Watch NSW (a mogeneration product). Both applications rapidly shot up the app store charts to become the number 1 downloaded application in their respective categories.
Coastalwatch (app store link) went to No. 1 in the Sports category and is rated 4.5 out of 5 stars. Coastalwatch provides surf reports and live video cameras from over 100 locations around Australia.
Food Watch NSW (product info page) went to No. 1 in the Reference category and is rated 4 out of 5 stars. Food Watch NSW uses GPS to show nearby restaurants from the NSW Food Authority “name and shame list”.
